get golfing

Sep 16

The global economic downturn has hit many people all over the world. Many were unfortunate enough to lose their jobs and have been made redundant. Big influential companies were forced to downsize and lay off staff, whilst others went under and shut their doors for good.

The financial crisis has affected the majority of people in the USA and prompted them to cut their spending drastically. Whilst jobs were unsafe, many opted to go back into education. The job market has always been incredibly fierce but ever since the big lay offs, people try to go the extra mile to have the little edge over the competitors.

Even though the financial market has been considered a catastrophe by the majority of financial whizzes, many have treated it as an opportunity and jumped at the chance of following their dreams.

Some may dream of owning a company, others long for a professional golf career. As with many other sports, passion, commitment and talent is vital to even gain entrance into the world of golf. But who wouldn’t want to be the next Tiger Woods? Having talent alone often doesn’t go very far. If one is to pursue a serious golf career, one should consider a pro golf school. This can provide many advantages and will give you something to show for yourself. A formal education may get started and golf employment could soon follow.

Asda to launch Asian fashion line

Sep 16

Supermarket chain Asda today launches an Asian clothing range, thought to be the first collection of its kind available on the High Street.

The clothes, part of the George at Asda line, are a response to demand from the supermarkets’ ethnic customers for affordable authentic clothing.

The 13-piece collection includes sequinned embellished salwar kameez (traditional suits), khurtas (tunics), dapata (scarves) and churidar (slim leg trousers).

Not particularly my style, but there’s obviously demand for it.

Britain’s Got Talent Sampson dumped by Cowell

Sep 16

Shows like The X-Factor or Britain’s Got Talent can change people’s lives, or so they claim. But winning either show doesn’t secure a life in luxury and success. The X Factor’s 2006 winner Leon Jackson was dropped by Simon Cowell’s label like a hot potato after disappointing album sales and last year’s Britain’s Got Talent winner, George Sampson has now also been dumped after his dance career failed to take off.

Sources say things just weren’t working out between the young street dancer and the X Factor mogul.

After 14m viewers saw George’s victory on the ITV talent contest, the teenager’s career never took off as Simon would have liked, and he is now no longer working with Cowell’s Syco label.

Gene That Kills Cancer Identified by British Scientists

Sep 14

A ‘masterswitch’ in the body’s battle against cancer has been identified by British scientists, raising hope of new treatments.

The key gene triggers the production of blood cells capable of fighting  -  and killing  -  tumour cells.

The cells form part of the body’s natural armoury against disease and we all have some.

Infusions of natural killer cells donated from volunteers are already given to some cancer patients. However, because they come from another person, they are not a complete match and so do not work as well.

The discovery of the ‘master-switch’  -  a gene called E4bp4 that causes ‘blank’ stem cells to turn into natural killer cells  -  paves the way for a drug to boost the patient’s own stock of the cells.
