6 tips for beautiful winter skin
Jan 13
Winter is a harsh time, especially for the skin. Now, more than ever, it needs nurturing, hydration and care.
Here’s a few tips for the winter months:
Hydrate from the inside out
Cold weather doesn’t really encourage us to drink more fluids. This is one of the most important things if you want nice skin, drink, drink and drink!
Follow the 3-minute rule
Put on moisturizer within 3 minutes of stepping out of the shower/bath to lock in the moisture in the upper layers of your skin.
Invest in an humidifier
Living in a dry climate can take its toll on your skin. Especially during the winter months we need more moisture.
Swap wool for cotton
Wool can be irritating to dry skin, so opting for cotton clothing seems gentler.
Pamper yourself with milk and baby oil
When the skin has become really dry, I tend to have warm (note: warm, not hot) baths with powdered milk and a few squirts of baby oil. The oil will stick to the skin and once you step out, it’ll already feel well nourished.
Turn down the heating a notch
If you don’t really need the heater on full blast, try to keep it down a bit. For your skin’s sake.
